Starkville, Mississippi
Starkville writer Carole McReynolds Davis had a surprise waiting when I came to make her portrait for Catfish Alley Magazine, a new publication by The Commercial Dispatch in Columbus, Miss.
She’d prepared a picnic lunch for us with one of her favorite treats — peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches, with a cold glass of buttermilk. I, unfortunately, had to hurry to my next appointment and wasn’t able to sample this decidedly odd Southern delicacy. (Thank goodness for a tight schedule! It was hard enough watching HER eat it.)
In other news, life is going well in Columbus. I like it here, and I’ve decided to make it my home – for now, anyway. Currently seeking an affordable place to call home for me, Cowboy, and my two cats. Crossing my fingers that it all works out.
