This is probably the most true photograph I’ve ever taken of Cowboy. I see this goofy dog smile a lot. This one was prompted by the unexpected evening pleasure of lying out in the grass, chasing a cicada.

His ears are growing more and more feathery, as is typical for his breed. The hair is super-soft and looks crimped. The rest of his coat is getting long and wavy, silky feathers hanging from his belly, mane, and rear end. He’s turning into quite the pretty boy.
