It’s official: I’m in love with my dog, from the tip of his cold, wet nose to the bottom of his heart-shaped butt. And yes, I know, the picture is slightly blurry. You’ve never seen pure joy until you see an Australian Shepherd greet you with a butt wag. Since they’re born without tails, they compensate by using their entire body to get their point across.

I’m pretty happy myself. Spent much of the day romping with the pup and sitting on the porch working on my novel. I can’t think of a better way to spend a pleasant spring Saturday.
