Arcadia, Oklahoma
I smoke and I think. I write, but the stories I write aren’t the ones I’m supposed to be writing. My real work, the words I get paid serious dollars to write, lies fallow, victim of circumstances beyond my control. I long to be in Tulsa again, working. I long to be flying long Route 66, far away from everyone and everything, away from the world which slices and tears even as I struggle to stay standing. I long to make my editor happy and keep my house clean and go out and feel more than a passive interest in life. I long to feel something in scale with what I’m supposed to feel. Something needs to get better soon.
