Tulsa, Oklahoma
The night was cool and rainy, kind of breezy.
I was restless and bored, kind of sad. I drove through the seedier side of Tulsa with my windows down, playing music, listening to nothing really at all. Tally’s Cafe was a comforting beacon in the dark, the kind of Route 66 diner where people laugh and talk and somehow everything ends up okay, people bonded by good food, strong coffee, tall tales, and a snappy waitress.
The rain still fell, but I smiled in spite of myself.
