Arcadia, Oklahoma

Had the privilege of driving “the Mother Road” from Oklahoma City to Tulsa and from Tulsa to Claremore. What a wonderful drive. It not only offered the chance to see parts of Oklahoma I would have otherwise never seen, it also gave me the opportunity to escape the rat race of the interstate and travel back in time to a slower way of life.

Of course, this presents its share of problems when faced with a tummy full of Ex-Lax and rainbow-colored Twizzlers. No sooner had the waxy candy hit my stomach than I was screeching tires, flying back to the store to redeposit them. Note to self: Ex-Lax is NOT a good road food.

That segment of the trip though is one of my happiest memories, and I doubt I will ever eat a pack of Twizzlers again that I don’t think of Oklahoma. Then again, considering I threw up a teqila-Twizzler rainbow smear a few hours later, I might just never eat them again period.
