Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The first time I felt a plane banking, it terrified me. Now I look forward to it because I know that as soon as the dizzying roll is over, we’ll be landing. As the Boeing tilted and the engines whined, I looked down at the lights slowly coming on in Philadelphia and leaned my head against the glass, staring down at the darkening landscape. When I opened my eyes again, I was landing in Atlanta.
