Lately, my suitcase has been open a lot. From Pennsylvania to Pensacola, I’ve been trying to add more travel to my repertoire. This suits the cats just fine.
As soon as I returned from Mobile this past Sunday, our resident lovebirds Zolby and Lily had to make a nest. After they vacated the spot, Rusty climbed in for a snooze, then Alexander, then Zolby and Lily again. Cookie, always a little late to the game, could do nothing but stand outside, huffing and blowing in her usual exasperated way each time she arrived to find the coveted leather lounger sans vacancy.
The last I checked, she was hunkered down near the edge, waiting to pounce. I don’t think one tiny square of real estate has seen this much action since the land run of 1889. Which of course gives me the perfect excuse for not unpacking over the past four days: The Catnap Defense. The squatters are gonna have to move soon though — I’m running out of clean socks.
