Tuscaloosa, Alabama

The rain is falling and I’m sitting here, staring out into the blackness, watching lightning flash across the sky and listening to the wet whoosh of cars passing on the street. I don’t want to write. I don’t want to shoot. The rain washes everything away.

So I dig through my archives. Pull a picture from Christmas that didn’t please me then and doesn’t do much more for me now — the Bama Belle on a cold Christmas night. What more can I say? It doesn’t really say anything at all except maybe that I am grasping at straws.
