Okay, so I lied. Another shot from Mobile. This is the Gulf Mobile and Ohio Railroad building downtown. Once a bustling center of activity, the 1907 Spanish Colonial Revival structure sits largely forgotten among the commerce and industry that threaten its survival. It is a victim of its own strength, surviving countless hurricanes and storms only to outlive its usefulness.
I am having a hard time assimilating back into my Tuscaloosa life after being in Mobile for a while. Living here means having to stare at my own failure in black and white every day of the week. I have freedom, but no purpose. Still, there is a lot to be said for wireless internet service, cable television, and an apartment filled with seven kitties and one graphic designer who couldn’t wait to see me come home. I have my PowerBook and my iPod, my favorite chair and a bottle of Dasani.
How unhappy could a girl be?
