I continue to struggle with studio lighting.

These items were originally bought in July with plans to shoot this photo for my portfolio. The job I was applying for required a demonstrated proficiency with studio lighting, but I never got around to shooting the photo. Somewhere along the way, I became discouraged with the whole process, convinced I wouldn’t get the job. And you know what? I didn’t.

Moral of the story: always try. Try whether you think you can or know you can’t. Try whether people are for you or against you. Try whether you feel like it or not. Try even when you don’t think you have it in you to lift your head another time. Always give it your best shot, literally, because the worst thing in the world isn’t losing out, it’s giving in.
