Since I had the day off and the leaves were peaking in color, I decided to go with Nicholas to one of our favorite places in the county — Lake Nicol. The day was overcast and wet, but the water was surprisingly low so we were able to walk pretty far up the creek bed before deciding to turn around. The rocks were a little slippery, and I’m surprised neither one of us ended up breaking a few bones.

All in all, the photos turned out okay, but I think maybe the shutter speed was still a little low, or perhaps my focus was off. With the tripod legs in a foot of rushing water, it may not have held the camera as steady as necessary. The resulting images are a little softer than I would have liked, but they were fun to take, and that’s half the point, isn’t it?
