I cheated a little today and decided to post another photo from last night’s fair instead of taking a new one. I actually did take a sunset photo today that looked great in the thumbnail view but was too blown out to salvage when I opened it in Photoshop.
I am having a lot of problems with properly exposing sunsets. They look okay on the back of the monitor, and look good in Photo Mechanic, but they don’t look the same at all when I try to adjust them in Camera Raw. I’m not sure what the solution to this is, it’s just something I’m going to have to work on. I had intended to take some other night shots this evening, but didn’t feel well so maybe tomorrow.
Overall, I think this photo is okay, but it lacks the impact of yesterday’s. I guess the one thing I like about this photo is the way the ride looks like a giant shaceship about to land as the people stand placidly by, waiting to be abducted by aliens.tagged color, Long exposure, Night, photojournalism
